CSA is proud to announce the promotion of Scott Edwards to Senior Associate.  Scott has been with CSA for over two years, and has over six years of experience in the noise and vibration control field.  His areas of expertise include transit noise and vibration assessments, noise barrier design, sound insulation testing, and GIS applications for noise and vibration projects.  Join us in congratulating Scott on his promotion.

The National Cooperative Highway Research Program (NCHRP) recently posted on-line a series of free, on-demand webinar videos as a companion to NCHRP Report 791, “Supplemental Guidance on the Application of FHWA’s Traffic Noise Model (TNM).” Each of the nine videos is approximately 20 minutes long and describes one or more of the 12 special topic areas covered by the report. Doug Barrett of CSA is featured in Part 3 of the series, which provides guidance on using TNM to model area sources such as weigh stations, service plazas, park-and-ride lots, and toll facilities.

CSA is pleased to announce the addition of Dave Towers to our team as a Principal Associate.  Dave has over 40 years of experience as an acoustical consultant in a variety of areas including environmental, industrial, architectural, transportation and construction noise and vibration control.  He is an internationally recognized expert in the railway noise and vibration field, a co-author of guidance documents on noise and vibration impact assessment for both the U.S. Federal Transit Administration and U.S. Federal Railroad Administration and is a Member of the International Committee for the International Workshop on Railway Noise.  Please join us in welcoming Dave to CSA!

CSA is pleased to announce the addition of Joelle Suits to our team as an Associate.  Joelle has an MSE in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Texas at Austin with a specialty in Acoustics.  She has conducted research into fire equipment acoustics and the unique acoustical environments of fires.  Joelle will be working out of our Utah office.  Please join us in welcoming Joelle to CSA!

CSA is pleased to announce the addition of Doug Barrett to our team as a Principal Associate heading our highway noise practice.Doug has nearly 30 years of experience in environmental acoustics, and is a nationally recognized expert in the highway noise field, having conducted numerous highway noise assessments and noise barrier design studies nationwide throughout his career.  Doug was also an instructor for TNM training courses for over 10 years.  Please join us in welcoming Doug to CSA!

  • Mitigation measures

We are pleased to announce that our own Herb Singleton has become Board Certified in noise with the Institute of Noise Control Engineering.  Board Certification is comparable to a professional engineering license in acoustics and is the highest level recognized by INCE.  Congratulations Herb!

CSA is excited to announce that we were recently awarded a contract for up to 5 years by the National Transit Institute (NTI) to teach the FTA’s transit noise and vibration training course.  We are very excited to have this opportunity to continue to help others learn about transit noise and vibration. The three day long course is offered 2 to 3 times per year at locations around the country and covers the entire FTA guidance manual.  More information about the course can be found on the NTI website.
